Cork County Council Mobile Library

Thank You, Clonakilty Residents!   

We would like to thank all the residents of Clonakilty who took the time to attend the Mobile Library event yesterday. It was great to see many people returning previously borrowed books and taking the opportunity to loan new ones.  

This initiative was made possible through our partnership with the Cork County Council Library & Arts Service and we appreciate their continued support in helping to promote access to library services in local communities. 

We’d also like to acknowledge Mirabella Face Painting and Sunny Ices for being part of the day. They added a fun and enjoyable element for younger children  

Planting event in Macroom

A big thank you to all the Macroom residents who joined us for yesterday’s Housing Clinic & Planting Event! It was an enjoyable day, and it’s great to see the area looking so much nicer. (See before and after photos)

Housing Clinic – Clonakilty & Macroom

TORC’s Housing Officer, Tenant Engagement Officer and Facilities Management were on site in Clonakilty on 13th August & Macroom on 20th August and held a housing clinic. It was a fantastic way to meet all those who attended and to answer any questions you had.

Upcoming events:

TORC Annual Unit inspections 2025

Each year, TORC carries out an annual inspection on each of our 465 properties to ensure that we provide safe, efficient, durable, comfortable and sustainable homes for our tenants.  The 2025 house inspections begin next month in April and all schemes will be completed by October. Some important information to remember:

• TORC will give a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice by letter to let you know the date and time-frame of your inspection.

• If you are not going to be home or need a specific time for an appointment, please let us know in advance of your inspection.

• HSCOs understand your home is where you live, we do not expect to walk into showrooms.

• During the inspection a members of TORC staff may take pictures – these are used as a visual record of the condition of the property over the lifecycle of your home. They are also used to assist with logging any repairs.

• Where a person is under 18 and is at home alone, we cannot complete an inspection without your previous permission/consent.
