Best Family Housing Scheme Award

TORC Sustainable Housing was shortlisted in the ‘Best Family Housing Scheme’ category in the prestigious ICSH Allianz Community Housing Awards 2023. These awards showcase projects that promote innovation and sustainability in social housing while also emphasising community-building and engagement.

It was announced on October 20th that TORC had won the award for Best Family Housing Scheme (large). The award was received by Tuath Housing Director Alison O’Gorman and Breeda Murphy of Cork County Council at the award ceremony held in Wexford.

Mid- Term Cinema Trips


Residents of Clairin attended the screening of ‘Trolls Band Together’ on a sunny Halloween afternoon at Galway Omniplex. The TEO and HSCO attended to meet and greet the tenants and hand them the tickets. As it was a private booking, the tenants had the whole screening to themselves.


Pairc Ui Mhuirite residents and their children attended also attended a screening  Trolls Band Together at The Reel in Ballincollig on the 1st of November.

Children enjoyed their munchies as a treat for their mid-term break. And, as the Galway residents, they had the whole screen to themselves!



Halloween Costume Competition Results

The winners of this year’s Halloween Costume Competition were announced on 6th November.

The competition was fierce as the photos were just fabulous, and very spooky.

First Waterford Resident Association Event

Presentation Gardens Residents Association enjoyed the first event: Emergency Services Day on the 22nd October 2023.  The residents enjoyed the day and the children learned about our emergency services, first aid response, work of the civil defence and the gardai. It was a lovely opportunity for residents to get to know their neighbours & build on the amazing community spirit in Presentation Gardens. The Association thanked Community Garda David Browne, Waterford City Civil Defence, Jessica O’Shea from Order of Malta Ireland, Eamon Quinlan, Joanne Bailey and TORC Sustainable Housing.

1/ Christmas Card Design Competition


The TORC Christmas Card Design competition is back this year! Young residents aged 12 years and under, have 2 weeks to submit a ‘Christmassy design’ that will be used for the TORC seasonal card. The card will be sent out to all of our residents with our office opening hours for the holiday season.

If your child would like to enter, please take note of the competition guidelines in the poster above. Either post the original copy of the design to the Cork office or send a good quality photo/scan of the design to:

2/ Christmas Craft Packs

Look at these beautiful, filled with lots of creativity and imagination craft packs! You can enjoy some art with your children or have fun being creative yourself! Make sure you register for the pack of your choice before Friday 24th November, so the packs can reach you on time before the holiday rush!
