A huge thank you to all the residents of Shannon who came out yesterday it was a fantastic community event!
A special word of thanks to Diane from the Road Safety Authority (RSA) who delivered a brilliant and very informative talk to the young children about road safety in the estate. The kids learned so much in a fun and engaging way, and were delighted to receive bicycle lights and some lovely high-vis goodies to help keep them safe.
Thank you as well to Shannon Ices for keeping all the adults warm with the lovely hot coffee.
I would also like to bring your attention to the Leading Lights in Road Safety Awards (https://www.rsa.ie/…/leading-lights-in-road-safety-awards) an annual awards programme run by the RSA that recognises individuals, schools, community groups and organisations across Ireland who are making a real difference in road safety through education, awareness and local initiatives. The awards celebrate those working to reduce road deaths and serious injuries, with winners honoured at a ceremony each December in Croke Park.
