TORC Top Tip for Tenants: Out of Hours Emergency Repair Service

TORC’s ‘Out of Hours Emergency Repair Service’ responds to emergencies reported by residents outside of the normal office opening hours. Residents can call the Emergency Repair Number after 5.00pm on weekdays or anytime at the weekend. We will respond to your request and aim to attend within 3 hours and make safe and repair within 24 hours.

Examples of emergency repairs include:

  • Uncontrollable major plumbing leaks.
  • Complete heating failure (in consistent and extreme cold weather).
  • A risk of significant damage to buildings or injury to persons.
  • Total failure of the electricity supply or an electrical fault

If your problem does not fall into one of these categories, report it to the TORC Helpdesk on the next working day.

How Do I Contact the Out of Hours Emergency Service?

You will be put through to an operator who will take your details. A member of the TORC Repair Team will then get in touch with you directly. This phone service is available 24/7, 365 days a year.

What should use the Out of Hours Emergency Service to report?

Please report: smashed windows, unsecured external doors, major leaks, fire, damage to property, a sparking fuse board, heating loss or anything considered to be ‘imminent danger’.

Do NOT report: rubbish, noise, dog barking, dripping taps, blocked drains, pests, anti-social behaviour etc.

If you need the FIRE BRIGADE, GARDAI or an AMBULANCE, DIAL 999. If you have a GAS LEAK or smell gas, phone the Gas Networks Ireland 24-hour Emergency Service IMMEDIATELY on Tel: 1800 20 50 50.

If you don’t have water, check the Irish water website for updates on your area and ask your neighbours if they have a water supply issue before contacting the out of hours service.
