First Aid Training Opportunities for Residents

Due to the popularity of First Aid Training in the Tenant Engagement Survey 2022, TORC Tenant Engagement will be proving more training opportunities throughout 2022. Last year we provided a series of online First Aid classes due to the Covid-19 restrictions, however this year we are focusing on giving the residents an opportunity to learn together in-person.

Sponsorship for First Aid Training

TORC has partnered up with the Parent First Aid Training company and are offering residents the ability to attend one of their in-person training sessions around the country. TORC will sponsor the €40 attendance cost for residents living in our Waterford, Kildare and Galway schemes. Residents from any scheme can attend the online session.

How to register for a Parent First Aid Training Event:
  1. Visit the Parent First Aid Website, check the upcoming courses for your area and choose a training session
  2. Email getinvolved@torcsustainablehousing.ie with your name, address and the training session you wish to attend
  3. TORC Tenant Engagement will make the booking for you and cover the cost
  4. The booking confirmation will be emailed to you
  5. You can attend the training event and learn new skills!

Roscommon, Shannon, Skibbereen & Clonakilty Schemes

For residents living in the scheme locations mentioned above, we are looking to provide a private group class with a qualified trainer. However, we would need a minimum of 10 residents for this to be organised. Please complete the survey below to express your interest. Residents will be contacted if there is enough interest from their scheme.

Little Heroes First Aid Training

TORC is interested in running the ‘Little Heroes’ first aid training programme and I would like to offer it to Drom Cuilinn residents in Shannon as there are a large number of children living in that development.

Little Heroes First Aid is a specially designed first aid workshop for school going children aged 4 to 12 years. In this safe and fun learning environment, the children will learn basic lifesaving first aid skills including the following:

  • What is First Aid?
  • Calling for Help or 999 / 112
  • Checking if someone is responsive
  • How to check breathing
  • Performing basic CPR
  • How to help someone if they are choking
  • Helping someone who is bleeding
  • Tips on how to help with Burns / Scalds

If you live in Drom Cuilinn and are interested in enrolling your child in this training, please complete the survey below. If we have enough interest, TORC Tenant Engagement will organise this event for residents.
